RESOLVED: Dual Axis Chart - Need to use the same scale.

Dear All,

I have a dual axis chart,

Up the left hand side it shows Maximum Days Taken to Jump for example.  On the right hand side I have Average Days Taken to Jump.

The problem is that they do not use the same scale, so that the line on the graph for the Average doesn't give an accurate representation.

I know I can do it manually, but I need it to use the same scale as Maximum.

Any Ideas?

Cheers,

Andy

Hi,

If you need same scale for both Max and Average then why are you using two Y-axis?
This can be achieved by having a only Y1 axis and disable Y2 axis.

Rahul

Agree with Rahul.
If you need the same scale, you don't need to use two axis

Click the Y1 or Y2 axis for which u want to change and see in properties you will have options to set the scale ,
Maximum value, Minimum value and Scale interval u can change it as required !!

Hi,

Apologies in advance for my ignorance but if view the picture attached you will see the graph in question.

On the left hand side we have max days to jump, which i want to see a bar for each Company Group then I want a line on the graph showing the average days to jump for all company groups.

As you can see the graph doesn't represent the average very well, this is why it needs to be on the same scale.

Still a bit unsure on how to achieve this.

Cheers,

Andy

I have not tested this fully, but can't you set the averages to use the Y1 axis too? This should set the scale for both Y's to be the same. At least it did in my limited tests.

Morning,

Calson: Do you mean put the Average data item in the Default Measure (y-axis) container, as it won't allow more than one default measure, or do you mean put the average in the Primary Axis series, which would turn the average into another bar?

Or do you mean something else that I am missing?

I have attached the view from RS just for clarification on what i am doing (wrong)  :)

Cheers,

Andy

Andy,

You mention you solved this issue, but I am not sure how and I am still struggeling with this. I am trying to find a way to have the Y1 and Y2 axis use the same scale, but I cannot find how. Refer to the attachment for an illustration. In some other posts I found something on a setting like "Axis assignment", but in my version it is not there!

How did you solve it?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Best regards,
Hans
