Open Powerplay Reports using Report Studio - disabled in 10.2.1

I wonder why they made this change in 10.2.1

Deprecated Features in Version 10.2.0
The options to open a PowerPlay report in IBM Cognos Report Studio or IBM Cognos Analysis Studio are not available in the IBM Cognos Business Intelligence 10.2.0 release.

Can we get it on 10.2.1 using some custom SDK coding?

Might be time to switch over to Cognos Workspace Advanced. I suspect at some point the older tools will be dropped altogether.

If you are intimately familiar with how to convert a PowerPlay report spec into well-formed, valid XML that Report Studio can consume (based on the Cognos DTD), then yes. I don't have those skills or that knowledge, though, and I doubt many people outside of IBM's BI development team would.

Totally an idea that sprung into my mind here at the end of the day... Maybe you could persuade someone on a release that supported that feature to try and open your PowerPlay in their RS and export the RS spec for you to import. I am not even sure this will work unless they also have your data.

Or you could re-create the report, which would probably work better in the long run.

(By the way, I am not that person as we are on 10.2.1 here.)
