Hi All,

I want to know, how do I set up "Send to Mobile Device" option in Cognos to burst report on iPad and iPhone.
My development activity is done, I have created table in the Database for burst recipient.

How do I make the report available for all the user on their mobile, as soon as they login into their App.

Any documentation, steps, etc. will be of much help here.

Thanks,
Sujit

I believe that this is a feature available to Mobile only when a Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) is configured.

Hi Grim,

Are you sure about this? I didn't think this was the case. If the appropriate user is selected (from the namespace), the report should arrive on any mobile device that user authenticates on - either via the app, the mobile web url or BES.

Cheers!

I wasn't sure as it's been a while since I've played with mobile, and I stand corrected. Used to be the case though when mobile first came out (Again if I remember correctly...but who knows with my goldfish brain).

From what I gathered from the docs, if you have mobile installed you should be able to send to any mobile device. They even added push notifications to Apple devices (which I just noticed!). Very cool.

The case here might be that you don't have mobile installed on the Gateway? You need to install mobile to the Gateway and all dispatchers (App tier).

This option will be available if you install Cognos Mobile Server on top of BI server.  Based on user CAMID, report will be send to mobile device of particular user if they login to mobile device ( iOS or Android).

Let me know if this answers your question.

Hey Rajesh,

How do I find the CAM ID ?
Can you guide me the process of bursting, I have to burst it out based on individuals assigned to specific territories.

If you have any document or steps I can refer to, that would be great.

Hi,

Are you sure you want to go down the route of bursting to individuals? Often this can be a very tedious and labour-intensive process - as people move regions and roles the list changes constantly, meaning you have a maintenance headache. Often it's a better idea to put people into groups or roles and burst to these groups or roles.

The simplest way to effect this is to create a "burst table" in your database. This generally has two columns - the territory in one, and the CAMID of the group or role to burst to in the other. This then gives you access to the territories for grouping the burst properties, and the CAMIDs to use as the burst key.

Cheers!

How do we set the report to burst the particular territory and where do we store the report ?
