Hi All,

I am having an issue connecting to sap bw system.
The Error I am getting is "OP-ERR-0068" logon failed.

STeps I followed for creating a datasource as follows:
1. I installed the sap GUI 7.3 on the cognos server.

On installing, I am able to connect to sapbw server from sap logon client(sap GUI)

but on checking by creating datasource, the above error is thrown.
I am using cognos 8.3

Any help is appreciated
Thanks in Advance

Without seeing some details such as SAP GUI configuration and C8 logs (capture only the error associated with this DS test), I can offer you a few pointers:

1) Have you followed the steps laid out here to connect to you BW data source: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/cfpm/v10r1m0/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.swg.im.cognos.ug_cc.10.1.0.doc%2Fug_cc_id6705SAPBWPackages.html ?

2) Is you SAP BW/SAP App Server (Netweaver) is supported on 8.3?

3) Is SAP GUI installed on the C8 app server (and FM client machine) where you are creating this data source connection? If so, make sure SAP shared library librfcxx.dll is referenced in the PATH variable (check C8 Install and Config guide for other OS specific rfc access shared lib).

SAP Specific:

1) Has you BASIS/BW/Authorization team provided you with userID that has required access? Refer to http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/c8bi/v8r4m0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.swg.im.cognos.inst_cr_winux.8.4.0.doc/inst_cr_winux_id16288ConfiguringCognos8toUseSAP.html  and ensure you have correct access to auth objects specified.

2) Are you able to view InfoCube or InfoQuery using the ID you are using?

Note that 8.3 is out of support by IBM so you dont stand a chance to get IBM to assist with this issue. Hope this helps.

Thanks.
