Hello All:

Looks like the inevitable decision by IBM has finally arrived:

http://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cgi-bin/ssialias?infotype=AN&subtype=CA&htmlfid=897/ENUS914-075&appname=USN

Looks like end of life will be Sept. 2015 for all DM releases. I am not able to decipher clearly, if after this date they will still provide support/fixes/conformance updates. And also if existing Cognos DM customers will need to pay purchasing IBM DS or existing DM customers will get a free upgrade and continue to pay S&S costs as usual.

Hopefully, someone has more insight on this.

Thanks.

Sad news indeed!

The "Statement of direction" notes in the announcement letter suggest that after the September 2015 deadline, support will be provided by the Infosphere team rather than the Cognos team. It looks like existing users will be able to continue to use Data Manager and get support - at least that's the way I'm reading it.

Cheers!
