Hi Guys

Is it possible to merge List column title  ???  What i need it's a the same title shared by two different columns

Thanks in advance for ur feedback

I don't think that it is possible. You can use a crosstab instead. Then, drag a crosstab space. Your crosstab space will serve as the title for  two different columns. Then, drag your columns under that crosstab space. Hope it helps. :)

You could try unlocking the report, dragging a 2 column/1 row table into the list body and then dragging the two query items into the table cells.

hi bbtresoo,

it is not possible directly, but if you follow some steps you can surely do that and achieve your requirement. even i had the same requirement which i tackled in the below listed manner.

1) select your list
2) go to headers and footers option, select list headersand footers and then overall header.
3)unlock the report
4)cut overall from the overall header.
5)select overall header and click split cell option
6)now give the heading in the first cell (heading as per your requirement.
7)select the cells you want to merger and click merge cells options.
8) do the allignment of the heading.

i hope this should fulfill your requrement. rest all is formatting work which you have to do as per your requirement.

i hope i have explained it to you in the right way. please get back if uou have any doubt.

its number 8 with a ) it used it as an emoticon  8)

anyways, you can select the list column title in the end and set its boxtype to 'None' so that it wont be displayed in the report.

This post is both a suggestion for a possible solution to bbtresoo's request, and also a request to help somebody who's experiencing a very senior moment :(

A few years ago when I started with Cognos BI, I was able to create supplementary list column titles in a report (see attached example). IIRC the Shocking Pink was a user request....

I'm thinking that maybe bbtresoo could use this technique to introduce merged list column titles (with a more tasteful colour scheme), and then set Box Type to None on the regular list column titles. I've tested this part of the solution on the report shown in the attachment and it works.

Now for the senior moment.... How on earth did I introduce these supplementary list column titles? Thought I'd noted it somewhere, but years later, all trace has gone...

Thx, Michael

Should anybody still be interested, the technique of adding supplementary list column titles is described here:

This is really helpful Michael75. I was looking for this functionality before. Never thought that it could be done using a list. I prefer this solution.  :)
