Deploying with security

I am working on deployment procedures between our TEST and PROD environments.  We are running Cognos 10.2.2 on Windows 2012 Servers.  Each environment has a gateway and an application server.  Both environments use our production AD. I am using Metamanager Deploy as the deployment tool although I have also experimented with the Cognos provided export and import.

I have been working on security changes in the TEST environment.  Changes have been made to groups, roles and capabilities as well as folder access.  What is the best way to move these security changes to PROD?

I tried a partial deployment but the security changes don't come across.  I hesitate to do a full deployment as the data sources are different in PROD (although there is only one and I could recreate it).   Our datasource in TEST is a prompt database that contains several datasource connections (each to clones of the reporting datasource).  The datasource in PROD has the same name but contains a single connection only to our production reporting datasource.

Also I wondered if someone could explain the 'include user account information' checkbox on the Cognos Deployment wizard.  I can't seem to find a good explanation of what this does.  For any of you who are using Metamanager Deploy what would the equivalent be.

I am seeking advice or insights.

Thank-you

If you have MetaManager it will do everything that you are looking to accomplish and is much easier to use compared to Cognos Deployments. Get in touch with the support guys at Avnet BSP and ask if they can demonstrate this to you.
