cannot see updated data in report studio unless i republish the package

Hi,

Wondering if anyone has a view on this >>> i cannot see the updated info in my Cognos report unless i  republish the package. I don;t do any update on the package joins/query subjects/items etc , so the metadata does not change...  so normally i should not be 'forced' to republish the package.

Any opinion on this is very welcomed :)

In all likelihood this is a cache issue. If you update a DB row, and immediately re-run the report, it could be you won't see the new data because Cognos still has the cached results of the run in the process.
When you publish the package, you force Cognos to think something has changed and thus to re-run the query.
Any of the following will also result in re-running the query:
1. A change to report's parameters;or:
2. On CQM, killing the BiBus; or:
3. Setting the RS query to not cache.

Give it a go to verify.
