Report Studio not starting after adding custom template

I added a custom report template,  did the required changes in template.xml and resources.xml and started report studio but its just showing the loading screen, not even throwing any error. Then I reverted the changes using the backup file but still its showing the same loading screen. Please help me.

I think y need to clear your browser cache. Worst case, restart your Cognos service too.

While you're doing the muppet's great suggestions, make sure you didn't ruin your XML file with incorrect syntax. This happens sometimes when we paste in the code too enthusiastically.
