This feature requires VML to be enabled in the browser

I'm on Cognos 10.1 and I started getting the error message (alert dialogue) "This feature requires VML to be enabled in the browser" in Report Studio when trying to access the Master Detail Relationship menu in IE8.  I also tried upgrading to IE9 (the last supported version of IE for Cognos 10.1) and have the same issue.

I tried switching to Firefox and the Master Detail Relationship menu comes up, but the "New Link" button doesn't seem to work?

I suspect this started happening after Windows Update (Windows 7) ran on my laptop.  I can't seem to find any information out there on how to enable VML in my browser.

Anyone seen this before?

Thanks!

The problem is the 0-day recently noted by Microsoft in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS14-021.  At least one of the most popular solutions to this vulnerability shuts off VML.  Using Report Studio on 10.2 on Chrome appears to let you use the features again, but not sure of an Internet Explorer fix as of yet or a pre-10.2 solution.

Don't know why I wasn't able to find this...
