How to update database data from cognos report

Hi
There is a requirement, where there is a report having one text box , when we enter some value and submit the buttion , it shoud go to database and update the record. Is it possible. if possible then please tell me how to resovle this problem.
What logic or technique need to be used to meet the requirement.

Hi,

Cognos 10 BI is designed as a read-only reporting tool, not as a data entry and maintenance utility. You could perhaps achieve your objective by creating a stored procedure in your database to store the value and calling this from your report, but to be honest it isn't supported and the Cognis BI tool isn't designed to do this from within a report.
