Sorting on Total Field.

I have to sort the Customers based on total no rewards. Customer is nested under Dealers.

I added a total on the customers data item . Now I created a tuple(total,rewards) with name sort key and tried to do a layout sorting on this field,

But my first parameter for tuple is total(Customer) which is not a measure or a member.so it doesnt allow me to create. How to achieve the sorting.
