hello all,
I use Cognos Version 10, but I haven't used Version 8.
Which is better?
I notice that most of the info on the web is for Version 8.
thanks

Imagine Cognos 10 without Cognos Workspace, Cognos Workspace Advanced, Active Reports and RAVE Visualizations. There. Now you have Cognos 8. :)

Which is better?

Let me answer by asking you a question.

Jaguar E Type or Jaguar F Type - which is better? ;)

10 is a facelift of 8.

Which is better Windows XP or 7.  While XP is still a good OS, its no longer updated, Cognos 10 is the officially supported version and if you are not vested in 8 already I don't see any advantage to going to an outdated version now.

Well MFGF, some of us do like the classic cars. But I'd probably go with F Type if money were not a factor. Oh wait, Jaguar, money cannot be a factor in either case. 8)

And I am really not trying to start a flamewar on humble cognoise, but Windows 7 > XP > Windows 8. And Cognos 10 is a lot more than a facelift of 8.
In my not-so-humble opinion, your mileage may vary, etc. etc. etc.... all in good fun.  ;D

Especially in an E-Type Jaguar*!! :)

* It is pronounced jag-you-are, by the way. Jag-waa sounds like a Far Eastern budget clone. Flame war? Moi? ;)
