Dear Cognos Folks,

I'm getting the error when trying to implement the DMQ in FM for a new datasource.
"DPR-ERR-2002 Unable to execute the request because there were no connections to the process available within the configured time limit."
We are dealing with the Relational Model. We dont have cubes as data source.
Please provide insights to the above error.

What we are trying to do here: Implementing Dynamic Query Mode(DMQ) with cognos 10.2.1 for the relational data sources. Compatible Mode works fine, getting the above error in Dynamic Mode.

Please suggest.

Thanks

MFGF

Is the Query Service enabled in your Cognos 10 instance? DQM needs this, whereas CQM doesn't.

Cheers!

Forgive my ignorance but I was under the impression DQM could only be used for OLAP or for Dimensionally-Modeled Relational sources.

@Meep: Query Service status is "Unknown" right now.
@bi4u2: You are not ignorant in this case, it is true that DQM can only be used for OLAP or for Dimensionally-Modeled Relational sources.

Customer is new to cognos 10.2.1 and wanted to have the capability of DQM setup (So that, they can avail if needed)
Right now customer don't have any DMR sources.
I was trying to do the setup for the DQM capability, inspite customer can leverage itright now.

The error was coming because I have implemented Signon authentication but I pointed to the "sqljdbc_auth" dll while setting up the JDBC drivers.
I removed the path of the authentication and it fixed my issue for signon authentication.

Thanks

This, I'm sure, is the root of your problem. If the Query Service isn't available you won't be able to use DQM.

I'd have to disagree here, sorry. DQM can be used against any supported relational or OLAP source IBM have enabled DQM access for, and your package doesn't have to be published as DMR for the relational sources.

@Meep: I tried starting "QueryServices" and was successful.
But the Status is still "unknown".
How to I make the QueryService as Available ?

Thanks

Try restarting the IBM Cognos service (if you can). If that still doesn't fix the issue, I'd suggest reinstalling Cognos 10. Might be worth opening a support ticket with IBM also?

Good luck!
