how to convert database date format to cognos date format

Hi

i want to convert the database date format(12-2-2014) to specified date format(2014-2-12), So how to solve this scenario.

I know this might be very cheap question for you , but i m new to cognos development.

SO please tell the syntax  , that i need to implement.

You posted in the Query Studio board so presumably you need instructions for setting this property in that tool. The relevant section from the user guide is below.

I suggest you spend some time reviewing the guide overall to help improve your understanding.

There isn't a specific option for the format you indicated, so your users might be better served with Business Insight Advanced/Cognos Workspace Advanced rather than Query Studio. The method for specifying the layout data format is similar across all the tools, but the available formats are more robust in the others.
