NTLM and Active Directory

Greetings, everyone.

I'd like to ask your help regarding our Cognos ReportNet setup.  Currently we have NTLM as our security authenticator but then we are moving from NTLM to ActiveDirectory.  Our NTLM is running in Compatible mode for Active Directory.  We didn't have any problems as we just added another namespace for the AD compatible mode.  Now since we already have an AD domain setup, some of our Cognos ReportNet users who were in the NTLM originally were switched to this AD domain.  What happened is that they lost their My Folders.

Question 1:  is can we still retrieve the access to those My Folders if we temporarily enable their user ids in the NTLM domain just to be able to retrieve their reports and queries.

Question 2: do we need to setup an LDAP so that we can retrieve names and groups from the AD namespace whenever we add users to CRN objects like Reports and Folders?

Appreciate your help on this.  Thanks.

Option 1 is your only choice.
