Hi Experts,

i want to display "No Data Available" if there is no data in crosstab. I have tried using different condition variables, still it's not working.

i have already set property as "No Data Available" but it's not reflecting. Any ideas?(Using 10.2)

Thanks,

bdbits

It should already do this by default. What property did you set? What is happening when you run the report?

Well, do this... Select the crosstab. Find the property "No Data Contents". Click the ellipsis to the right of the property. Select the "Specified text" radio button, and enter "No Data Available" in the textbox. Click OK. Optionally remove your conditional variables and other remnants of your previous efforts as they are not needed. Run the report. Bask in your success.  ;D

If it still does not work, please provide more information or if possible and even better, attach the report spec to a post here.

I just take sample crosstab without having filters, variables and any other stuff even also not showing the No data Content message, it's just showing the data items from rows and columns.

Thanks,

MFGF

Thanks,

You only get the "No Data Available" message when there is no data. If you have data for rows and/or columns you see the data displayed.

Exactly MF but the thing is here iam not able to see that message and  it was showing only rows and columns.

That does not make sense, to me anyway. If you are seeing rows and columns, then you have some kind of data (maybe nulls or zeros?) and you will not see whatever you have configured for "no data". Do this - put an impossible filter in your query, like "1=2", so you can be absolutely certain no rows are being returned. If you still don't see the "no data" rendered, I think we will need a report spec to see what is wrong. (Copy the report to the clipboard from the RS Tools menu, paste it into a text file, and attach that file to your next post.)

Wow! Bob, I think you have a direct telepathic link with my brain! You wrote word-for-word what I was thinking! :)

hello i cant send you the report spec and i can see is there any alternative method to post u th e report spec.

What we r doing in columns,it's having some calculated items based on prompts and those prompts all are defaults in report page ,once that has been solved may be we can see the no content data  and those defaults are not yet solved. I will let you know further information. Thanks for your prompt response

You can use the "My Messages" link at the top to send Bob the spec privately if you wish? You have 70 posts so there should be no issues with you sending personal messages.
