HI
I created new user using NTLM AUTHENTICATION PROVIDER, and set false value for the autonomous property.
But when i start cognos portal, it displays the logon dialog box, when i enter the user id and password, it doesnot allow me to login/enter into the cognos application/reports.

I think something missing, could you please rectify it .

Hi,

The namespace looks like it's called "myauthentication". Is this namespace definitely pointing to the NTLM instance on your Cognos server? Did you add the user into this instance? Have you made sure you are entering the password in the correct case?

Cheers!

Hmmm. It all looks ok on the surface.

If you go into your user record, is the account disabled or locked out?

Hi
No, account is not disabled or logged out. because when i start the system, it asks for user id and password, when i enter the value it get into the system without any restriction. it happens only in cognos portal.
For clarification i m send the screen shot. please go through it and hit the nail.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

I'm not seeing anything obviously wrong there. You are trying to log in as Inam with the correct password? Is this a single-server Cognos instance or is the Content Manager on another server?

I have dig deep into my memories, but if I remember correctly you have to do this:
set "NTLM domain name" to your servername.

I think that's gonna solve it (if this does not work try setting it for Primary Domain controller name).
It's just like when you logon to your server with RDP: you have to enter: <ServerName>\<Account> or <Domain>\<Account>
