Cognos Connection goes blank with Host Name configured but works with IP

The Cognos servers were P2Ved to the client location, with new IP and Hostname. The same when configured in Cognos Configuration works only with IP/loclal host and not with Host name (url). I am able to login to the cognos connection with Host Name but goes BLANK, and if Cognos Config is configured with IP/localhost the connection works.

Please advise on this.

It depends what web server you are using. Is it IIS? Apache? Something else? Take a look through the instructions for configuring your web server in the Installation and Configuration Guide - Chapter 5, and the section entitled "Configuring the web server"

It is IIS, as I said I can see the logon page with servername/ip in the url and when i pass the credentials it goes blank. If its a websever issue then logon page should also error out, your thoughts?

Note: This happens when Configuration URLs are set with server name instead of IP
