Hello All,

Currently i am working on migration for cognos transformer cubes from cognos 7 to cognos10.2 versio. In this migration we are switching IQD'S to Packages.
currently we are facing issues with cube generation time.In prevous environment we are used oracle9i as database.
Now we are using oracle11 as database.

Please let me know tips to improve the cube generation time in current migration.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,
Krishna.

All things being equal, building from a package in 10.2 should be faster than your IQD based queries in Transformer 7.

The first thing to do is to compare the Transformer log files.
- is it the query reads that are different?
- are you getting the same number of rows in your package query versus the IQD based one?

Examine the SQL being generated for your package-based source.

Thanks a lot!

But In Cognos10.2 migration data source which are having more records is taking long time to read data source compare to IQD'S.
According to logfiles data source is reading slowly compare to C7.
Switching IQD'S to packages few cube run time is improved ,few cubes run time decreased.

is there any other settings need to be change in model level?

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,
Krishna

Have you tried using cognos Report Studio Report instead of the Package directly?
