Mixing versions of TM1 and BI

We are currently using BI 10.1.1 and TM1 10.1.1.  Our TM1 vendor wants us to upgrade BI to 10.2, but doesn't want to upgrade TM1 to 10.2.  Are there any potential problems with this?  Is it important to try to keep the two products on the same version, or does that really not matter?

Thanks,

As per my understanding both should be at same version.

It all depends on what level of integration you want. If you are just using TM1 as a data source in BI and nothing else, you will be ok. In fact, if you are upgrading BI but not TM1 you will still be ok using cube views etc in Cognos Workspace. If you install the new BI Interop it will assume you have TM1 10.2 and rerite a lot of the BI/TM1 config files (to take account of the changes in TM1 from using IIS to using Tomcat) so it's probably best not to install the new version of this.

I had TM1 10.1 working happily with BI 10.2.1.1 for a while. I upgraded to TM1 10.2 recently and had (and still have) all sorts of issues with TM1 widgets in Cognos Workspace. I'm seriously considering going back to TM1 10.1 :)
