Hi Gurus,

Actually there are more than 20 rows of data present for the line chart, where as in Cognos the line chart is displaying only 20 rows and truncating remaining or not displaying others. Is there a way I can display all the series. I know only the option is if expand the size of the line chart it will display all the series names in the legend. Other than that do we have any other option without increasing the size of line chart?

Example: If a line chart is having more than 20 rows of data, it is displaying on the names of series in the legend till 20 rows and remaining displaying with '...' symbol. Is there a way I can display all the series. I know only the option is if expand the size of the line chart it will display. Other than that do we have any other option, even though the line chart is of small size.

Can any one please help me on the same. Your help will be much appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Gurus,

Can I at least restrict the number of legend names display in the line chart from default 20 to 10.

Example: Say suppose in a line chart, we have 30 rows of different country names dispalyed in series legend names. But in cognos by default only 20 series legend names will be shown by default and others will be shown with dots ('...').

So, Can I restrict the series legend names to only show 10 names on each page, so that the line chart will be much cleaner display of series legend names instead of crowded.

I don't know of any particular way to alter the number of entries displayed in the legend. I know it's not what you're after, but I'd question the worth of a graph that's got in excess of 20 lines on it...is it still readable / understandable?

Hi BigChris,

Thanks for the reply, yes I want to control the number of entries in the legend, by default Cognos dispalys 20, rather I want to display only 10 entries in the series legend. If the entries in the legend are more than 20 then other entries will be not be displayed but the 21st entry will be displayed with '...' symbol and no entries will be shown after that. The 20 entries in the legend are readable.
