Hello everybody!

Active Report'm studying and I'm two situations that I could not solve.

1 - Create a report in AR and put two fields a description of the product, with sales value and summary this value. I include a compoment Date Drop Down List and I filtered this product category. So far it worked, when I select product in DDDL updates the query on the screen. But summary field not updated. How do I solve this?

2 - In the report it is possible to create a parameter without being obligatory. How to do this in ACTIVE REPORT?

Excellent weekend.

Hi,

The answer to the first question is to aggregate the sales value using one of the the "Summarize in Output" options from the Aggregate button (on the toolbar). In your case I assume you would want the Total option from this section.

For your second question, Active Reports use variables instead of parameters. You can define a default value for a variable if that's what you want to do, or if you are using (for example) a data deck, you can define a default card which will render when the variable(s) is/are empty.

Cheers!

MF.
