Hi All,

I have a cross tab report coming from a cube.

It has products in the rows.

The product hierarchy has 3 levels.  Product Group > Product Type > Product Code

The Cube rows are Product Group.

I can click on some Product Groups and drill down to Product  Type and other times it doesn't do anything.

Each level has a unique code, even if it is blank.

Any ideas why?

Just to add, the report also has a graph which uses the product dimension and I can successfully drill down on every Product type from that.

Just to be clear, what is the structure of the dimension in situatoins where the businesskey is blank? Is the hierarchy unbalanced (ie does every Product Group have children?) When you say "Other times it doesn't do anything" do you mean that the other product groups disappear and you are left with the product group you tried to drill down on, or that the list of product groups in the rows remains intact?

Is there any pattern to this - ie can you drill down on Product Group A at some times but not at others? Or are there just certain Product Groups that drill-down never seems to work with?

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

Just the label is blank, the code is not blank.

Every product group has children even if it blank in the data we give it a unique code and label it Unassigned.

When i say it doesnt do anything i mean it acts as if it is not a drill down, it just highlights the row.

There is no pattern to which ones do not work.

If i change the crosstab to use Product Type instead of Group, it works fine and like i said, i can drill fine using the graph.

In addition to my last post.

If we move the entire cross tab above the graph so that it is the first object on the page then it works fine.

If it is beneath the graph then it throws a wobbler.

Hmmm. That really doesn't sound right. What version of Cognos 10 are you using?

Any option to set up a test system using a more recent build and try it on that?
