Security using custom view in transformer 10.1

I have a client that wants to assign security in the transformer model using custom views. Now the big but coming. They want to use sql tables to do this and not AD or the cognos namespace. Do you have any idea who I can do this.

About the only thing that comes to mind is writing a custom authentication plug-in for Cognos that would look at those SQL tables. This would be set up for Cognos as a whole, and the user would also need to log in with the namespace that uses this custom authentication.

It is a non-trivial solution I would not recommend, but it might work.
