Prompt issue

Hi all,


Below is the order On time dimension under "Month' level of our cube.
01 2009
02 2009
03 2009
;
;
12 2009
01 2010
02 2010
03 2010
;
;
12 2010
01 2011
02 2011
03 2011
;
;
12 2011 and so on.....2013
But when we create the prompt for Period and run the report- then these month level are not is order (see below). Rather displaying all the months for 2009 fist and 2010....it is displaying first- JAN for all the Years & Feb for all the Years...and so on.

Can you please advise what is the issue here? We are using Cube for this report. Much appreciate you help on this. (see attachment)

Hi,


If you have Year and Month number then use the below.


Select the Value Prompt(Tree prompt), Properties --> Data --> Sorting ---> drag year after Month number both should be up arrow(Ascending Order). Then You can get.

Or add Year to your query, then go to prompt detail sorting, add forst year ascending, then month ascending.

Already tried sorting method. But still the same issue.

Is this a generated prompt or have you defined a value prompt in your report? If it's the former, the inherent ordering of members from the cube (if defined) should take effect. If it's the latter, you should look at the query driving the value prompt to see if sorting has been defined for the item in the query being displayed. My guess is that it has been enabled and is sorting based on the caption. If so, remove the sorting - does it fix the issue?
