How to create Metrics Package in 64 bit

Hi every one,

I have just installed a computer with IBM Cognos BI Server 64 bit and IBM Cognos Metric Server 64 bit in version 10.2.1, in Redhat Enterprise Linux 6.1. And then, I tried to configure the Report Service in 64 bit (it's default in 10.2.1, i saw that). Everything will seem run successful.

But, Now I tried one thing about creating metric package like that:

  • Create a Data Source in IBM Cognos Administration with JDBC (for Dynamic Query Mode)
  • After that, I create a Metric package from this Data Source
  • And then, I can open Metric Studio in this Metric package
  • But, When I tried to open this Metric package by using Query Studio, It raised an error: "This report service is configured as 64-bit and only supports packages published with the dynamic query mode.

Any one have any idea for this?
Thanks.

Hi,

Can you do a quick check ? Just go to properties of package that you created, in the general tab scroll down you will find query mode that is being used by package. Not 100 % sure, but i think if you create package from cogos connection it will be created as CQM only.

And if you set report server process to 64 bit, it will not work for CQM. CQM is supported by 32 bit only. While DQM will supported in both 64 bit and 32 bit.

Thanks

Thanks for your reponse.

I saw that when I create a metric package from a data source, it don't have any option for dynamic query mode.

I think the Metric package will default in 32 bit (although the server is in 64 bit). The properties of this metric package shown that is Compability Mode.

And if that, How can I create a Metric package in 64 bit?? (Maybe in Metric Designer?)

Thanks.

OK.
I have just resolve this. Because the Metric package primary for Metric studio. By default, the Metric package only created in 32 bit.
