Slight Shadow in Colored Region on Bar Chart

Made a bar chart and put in a colored region. I noticed that there's a slight 3D effect/shadow that is showing in the colored region, yet I have not placed any depth or drop shadow settings. How do I get rid of the effect? Can't find a solution anywhere online.

Just guessing really, but some of the standard palettes actually use a subtle linear gradient effect between two colours. It could be this creating the impression of a shadow.
