Hello all, we are planning to upgrade to Cognos 10.2.1 from Cognos 8.1.2 MR2. I have been doing my research regarding best practices and noticed that Sun one directory server is no longer provided because it belongs to Oracle. We are using series 7 security currently. Could any of you please provide as to how authentication can be implemented using a new directory server? Can I take back up using Access manager in a .LAE file and import it to a new directory server say Microsoft AD or tivoli or even Apache DS? If I imported the .LAE file data to new directory server and provided the same namespace while configuring authentication source in Cognos will CAMIDs of users remain intact? Please let me know. I appreciate your time.

Hi,

No - LAE files are (I think) specific to Cognos 7 Access Manager. You could in theory export an LDIF file from Sun One and import it into a new LDAP. I am pretty sure the CAMIDs would end up being different, though.
