Hi,
I'm new in Cognos - I was working in Business Objects.
I have 2 tabs on my report - based on one query -
In first report tab I need filter different than on tab 2.
How can I achive this?

In BO I could create filter on report level for particular tab - how about Cognos?

Lynn

I'm not sure what you are referring to by "tabs", but sounds like a query reference might do the trick.

one more question is - are we sure that at the end there is only ONE query to DB  and my query reference are working on these results?

Lynn

Nope. There will be multiple queries sent to the database.

so how can I achive to send only one query and use resultset on different pages with different filters?

I'm retriving data from procedure.

I think that is essentially the drawback of webbased reporting. Way back when full client reporting software had the advantage of building many different report (layouts, filtered sets) on the same retrieved dataset.  Those were happy days   ;)
