Gurus,

I would like to let my users to schedule reports themselves in Cognos workspace advanced if possible. Does scheduling reports have to be done in Cognos connection? The problem is that currently most users don't have access of Cognos connection. Are there any other options for scheduling reports?

Thanks,
Bo

Yes, scheduling has to be done in Cognos Connection and it's possible to deny access to scheduling .

How do they use Workspace Advanced if they do not have access to Cognos Connection? Maybe
they have access to Cognos Connection but do not have access to scheduling.

Hi,

It's also possible to schedule reports from within Cognos Workspace (if a folder with reports in it has been added to the workspace). You need to maximise the widget to see the scheduling option, usually.

Cheers!

Thanks MF. Users do have a folder with all the reports inside. How do I enable the scheduling option for users in Workspace? In Cognos connection, there is an icon for scheduling reports. I didn't see it in Workspace.

We have a page that has links for Cognos reports. Users can access Workspace advanced but not Cognos Connection.

Maximise the widget, and the scheduling option usually appears alongside each report in the folder.

Widget normally:

MF, We have a page that has links for Cognos reports. When users click the report link, it will open the workspace advanced. Users do not have access of the folder for the reports they created. I can't find the maximize icon you mentioned in the workspace advanced. Now I'm thinking I probably need to use SDK to schedule reports in this situation.

Thanks,
Bo
