Hello Guys,

Is there some setting in Cognos v10.2 to block users who fail the password more than three times the access to the portal?

thank you
Leo

Nope. Your authentication provider should take care of this...

ReportNet Addict is correct this is handled by your Auth provider whichever you are using. If it doesn't do it now it needs to be configured on the Auth end.

EX.
Active Directory will do this for you automagically out of the box unless your AD Admin has turned it off (3 strikes you're locked out for 20/30mins).

LDAP Provider (Depending on which LDAP Vendor/Version you are using) will need to be configured to do this. If you are using the old SunONE LDAP from days of old there are options/configurations to enable this. I don't have a version running on hand to post a screenshot, but I know it's there cause I remember toggling it and playing with it. I also remember that it was bad to use spaces in the CN/DN names in SunONE.
