Hello

We have installed Cognos 10.1.1 (with fp3) mobile.  We have also installed the iPad app and connected to the company network via VPN.  However, when I try to connect to the server I get prompted for my username/password which I enter but I just get re-prompted again.  We have created a company namespace and pointed this to our Active Directory to control authentication in Cognos but am not sure how this relates to the credentials being asked for in the app.  any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What happens if you launch Safari on the iPad and navigate to the main Cognos URL (not the mobile URL)? If this works, you could then try the mobile URL (ibmcognos/m) and see what results you get. This might help you pin down where the issue is arising, and what (if any) errors are reported.

Cheers!

MF.

We saw this quite a bit when testing different versions of the IPAD

Everytime we saw this issue it had to do with how the IPAD was connecting to the LAN, now here is the fun part...

To fix the problem we normally just deleted the connection and recreated it...
Not the connection to the Cognos Server the Lan connection itself

On 3 different Ipads we saw this issue and everytime we saw the issue where we kept getting prompted for User ID etc recreating this connection eventually worked, one IPAD a version 2 I believe we had to recreate the LAN connection like 4 times before it stopped...

I realise this doesn't help much but this is what we saw - we had one of the Gentlemen Scholars in from Brightstar helping us setup a Mobile Proof of Concept and yeah they were a little irritated at this issue as well  :)

It turned out to be some proxy setting within the VPN settings on the ipad.  Our techy dept fixed it for me so I don't have further details I'm afraid.
