Layout Component Reference Not Updating

Hi All:

All my reports use a layout component reference from a template report (the component is reference not a copy).  I have a simple reference that displays the copyright year, which when I update in the template should reflect in all the reports.  After updating the copyright LCR I save my template report, then I open one of my many reports in report studio and I see the change - so far so good.

However, when I run the report it still displays the original value - why is the value not updating based on the reference at runtime but does if I look at the report in Report Studio?

We use a combination of all these platforms and are seeing the same issue in all our stacks.
Cognos Version: 10.2.1
OS: Windows, Linux, AIX
Content Database (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server)
Source Database (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server)
Web Server: Tomcat, IIS

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Hi Chet, first things first - make sure you're not looking at a saved output of the report when you run it. Secondly check that you haven't got a cached version in your browser...press Ctrl+F5 to refresh your cache.

Another thing to check is that you have embedded by reference, and not copy. This is a property on the layout component object in your target report.
