Hi all,
I am a newbie to CRN , but trying to install and configure it following manuals. I am facing problems when creating sample database @ oracle. Imported the d/b under the same user and schema and some tables could nto be copied from dumpfile. So if any one can please tell me from the step of restore database in oracle till the configure at the Frame work manager its really great.  I am able to execute some sample reprts but not all. If you got any documentation for complete step by step configuration please post it.
Hope you understood my problem,
Thanks a lot,
User.

Hi
thanks for your reply. I dont know how ot put in exact words , Here we go... I dont know where I am making mistake but I have restored the sample dumps using "imp" command to different users GOSALES and GORETAILERS. I have specified in the Frame work Manger the users to go access the tables for creating the sample reports. Its not able to connect to the restored tables at the databases and throwing me error table does not exist. But when I validate the data source connection @ FWM its says valid.
If you can PLEASE provide me the step by step way to do so , I will really grateful and thankful to you.
Sorry for long reply :)
Waiting for further help,
Kiran.

Hi,
Please go thru the following information so that you might tell me where I might have gone wrong during importing sample databases.

My database name: crnorcl and I have created 2 different schemas/users in the same database named them "gosl" and "gort" as per dump files.

In the Cognos connection, I have created 2 datasources with names: gosl and gort
In the FrameworkManager , I have given the above created names for the datasources gosales (Given gosl) and goretailers(given gort)

But in the installation PDF file cognos mentioned:: Important: You must give the restored databases the same names as the backup or export file
names for the sample model, package, and reports for them to work.

Did not get what they mean???

Thank you much for your help,
Kiran.

See CRN reports are based on the package name..And in package the database name also plays an important role. If u change even the name of any of these things the reports do not work.

For eg...i have developed a report A on package1. i take a copy of package1 and name that as package2. Now i can't run the report A on package2 though both of them have the same metadata. (Although u can set the reportA to execute on package2 through model connection)

Just restore everything including names as given in the help...
