Posting here vs Child Boards

Pardon my ignorance !

What is the difference between posting a question here as opposed to posting inside the Child Boards? First I thought any question that does NOT belong to any child boards should be posted here but that was proved wrong because lot of posts here do actually belong to the child boards !

Generally I'd suggest using the child boards, as posts here in the main forum area often get overlooked.

Note to self - when time, must look into moving all posts from here into the relevant child board.  One for me to save for a rainy day, I think...
