YTD_calculation

Hi gurus,
                Could you please help me out how to sort out the issue where am facing is that i have 2 columns on YTD's i.e prior YTD(say2012) and current year(2103).If i calculate and run the report after creating YTD's for current and prior years it is displaying correct for 2013 i.e for the current month aug it is displaying jan-aug 2013 and for 2012 it is displaying jan-dec instead it has to display jan-aug because we need to get  for the current month selection in year 2013

Is this a relational source or a dimensional source? How are you slicing or filtering currently?
