Dear all,

I met a questions when doing backup. As you may know, it is a good habit to backup the whole Cognos environment every certain time. while doing the backup, 2 selections for us to choose, public folders or the full content(with user account or not). here I have 1 question that can we backup the reports under user's personal folder? some reports in users' personal folder might be important one.

any help might be appreciated.waiting for your any reply.
thanks in advance.

Lin

A full content store export will get everything including my folders. That said, you are probably better off and most likely easier to back up the Content Store DB.

Hi Grim, thanks a lot for your quickly reply and sorry for the delay.

I checked the process of full content export again, it includes User account information, Configuration, Directory and Public Folders. I didn't see Personal Folders, so do you mean that Directory should include the users' personal folders

I think Grim is right...

I found the words from Cognos Administration and Security Guide, it said like below:

If you want to deploy users' personal folders and personal pages, you must choose to include the
user account information when you export and import.

so if we want to back up the reports and packages in users' personal folders, we should select export Full Content with user account information.
