Testers needed for Report Studio 10.2.1 problem

Hi,

Can some of you help me out with the following issue:

In Report Studio 10.2.1 when I start a new empty list report and add a conditional block below this list and try to move the (empty) list below the (empty) conditional block Internet Explorer (and FireFox ESR 17) freezes up (does nothing). When I try it a second time a browser window pops up with a warning and again nothing happens.

When I create a new list report, add a conditional block and a second list and when I try to move the second list above the first list everything works like a charm.
Can some of you do this testing and let me know if you encounter the same issue.

Tested it with:
IE 10 (using compatibility mode)
IE 9
FireFox 17 ESR

Please let me know what browser you were using.

Works fine for me on IE 7

@ Addict, I've just tried this, using IE8.

In your first example I get identical results - see screenshot #1 for the warning message.

In the second example, when adding the second list, I get a dialogue box (screenshot #2) which I haven't seen on my usual 10.1.1. But the list is not inserted. When I repeat this operation, I get a new message (screenshot #3).

@ All For future reference, how do I include images embedded in my text, as some other posters have done recently? It makes this sort of post easier to follow.

Hi J,

I see the same (or similar) results to you. When trying to move the empty list object to after the conditional block, it sppears not to work. I can still use the browser, though. However, trying to do the same action again results in the following error (Firefox ESR17):



I get the same behaviour exactly in IE too:

The stats for now:
IE 7 => No error
IE 8 => Error occurs
IE 9 => Error occurs
IE10 => Error occurs
FireFox 17 ESR => Error occurs

I've just found out that a colleague had a similar problem, and opened a ticket for it with IBM Cognos Support. I say "similar", as it appears that the problem that he reported was that he couldn't drag in contiguous conditional blocks. Anyway, this is what Support came back with:

After a short test, you are right, there is some small problem adding more than one continuos 'conditional blocks' to the report on Report Studio. We did try on a table for example and works fine, as longer you put them in different cells.

We did test several times and we found a workaround to it if you want to put them continuos in the same part of the report:

In Report Studio:

Go to View -> Change the view of the page from 'Page Design' to 'Page Structure'

then will appear  as taxonomy, display the part of the report where you want to put the continuos conditional blocks and drag and drop as usually. We you come back to 'Page Design' view, you will find the conditional blocks there.
