Saving Report Outputs to a non-Cognos File System

I need some help in saving reports to a file system:

I have a need to setup the ability to run a report and save its output (in whatever format) to a file system on our network (not on one of the Cognos specific servers).

I don't want this to be a run default, rather a report run-time option (whether interactively or scheduled).
Is this possible?

If so, what are the necessary changes within Cognos environment?
And, how do we allow "Save to File System" as an option for the report?

Any feedback would be appreciated.
