Trouble representing Data with 1 large outlier

I have a Report Studio stacked bar chart that is displaying a count of values (y axis) by date (x axis).  For one date, the counts are 10 times greater than the other values.  I can think of 2 ways to handle this, but I haven't figured out how to implement these in Cognos 10 yet.  I'd love to hear others' thoughts.

First, the ideal option for me would be to clip the chart so that it cuts off that single bar of data.  That way, I could see the detailed stacks of other bars which showing that there's the single outlier of large data at one point in time.  I don't see a way to handle this in Cognos.  If I attempt to limit the y axis using the Axis Range property of the Primary Axis, Cognos still automatically resizes the axis to allow for the outlier to show all the data.

Second, I thought I could use the logarithmic scale option on the y axis.  Unfortunately, the only change I see when I select this option is that the y axis totally disappears when I select this option.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks,
Brian
