Hi guys,

I was interested to know how everyone keeps up to date with the Cognos products and all the news that goes around. e.g. I just heard from someone else that Cognos 10.2.1 was released last week.

What sites do you get your information from? Twitter? Blog? Newsletter or RSS feed? Share your links here.

Well, your analogy itself will keep you updated 'The quieter you become, the more you can hear'  ;)

Whenever a new version is released, the information is posted on this site, and if it didn't then you can blame the muppet for it  ;D

Once the version is released then you just have to learn the new technology by yourself. If you find it too difficult then start posting your questions here. if you don't get answers then again blame somebody for it ...

Surprised you aren't preforming at the laugh factory. What I really want to know is muppet's source  :P

I suspect muppet has a few friends at IBM. He might even have an inside source working in one of the presales teams.  I wouldn't even be surprised if he knew about this version months ago and was teasing his fellow moderators with all sorts of comments on how awesome the new version will be.

IBM does have a few newsletters you can subscribe to.  Are you a partner or customer?

Actually, this is not rocket science. I am certified so I am subscribed to IBM's newsletter so I get to know whenever a new
version is released. I get the docs that provide the highlights of the new tools etc. The rest is when you download the software, it comes with a PDF that says 'New features in ver ..'.

From previous experiences, we have learnt that every new version has issues which is why they release a patch in a couple of months so you have that much time to learn the new version as we upgrade only after the patch is released otherwise we would
be spending time troubleshooting issues that are not our issues.

Lots of ways to keep upto date with the latest news regarding IBM Cognos and Business Analytics...
Twitter - Lots of different official IBM Business Analytics twitter related accounts - they announced the 10.2.1 release recently.
Partner websites / twitter feeds - RSS news feeds from BSP and other worldwide partners.

Cheers

Paul... Whatever gave you that idea? All my info comes from that well-known journalistic triumph "The Beano" http://www.beano.com/ :-)

I use my secret insider mole (we shall call him Greyhead to protect his identity) in IBM for verification, and when he isn't available I just ask Lynn, who seems to know everything ;-)

As for teasing other moderators... Well, honestly! Would I do such a thing? :-)

Meep!

Lynn

Rumor has it that the secret insider mole is currently unavailable for comment because he is basking in the sunshine and breezes on a tropical island somewhere in the Caribbean.

Gee. Maybe I really do know everything! Nah. Not even close!

Now I'm intrigued! Your IP address seems to originate somewhere in the Caribbean! Could it be that you are, in fact, Greyhead??? ;-)

Nope. Not me. I am a she, not a he.
