Pivot table - customised grouping

Hello,

I have attached a pic that visually explains my dilemma.

I have created a pivot table in report studio. The columns are:  actual cost and budgeted cost.

The row is business department (PAL001 in this instance)

I have then used report studio's customised grouping function, to group some specific attributes for the department into either Group 1 or Group 2. This forms part of the row in the pivot table.

Refering to the attachment, the values in image 1 are correct. The problem is soon as i drag the customised grouping as a column (was a row), the numbers the report return are incorrect.

Would anybody have any insight to why this is happening, and a solution on how to fix?

Thanks in advance
Shaun

Hi Shaun,

Can you explain more about the group1 and group2 is it like a case statment.

Another question removing the Gourp1 and Group2 from Picture 2 does the total change?

For example:

            Group1|Group2
             Actual | Budget
PAL001    100  |  100

             Actual | Budget
PAL001    100  |  100

Right now, it's unclear how you defined those groups.

Thanks,
RK
