Hello Everyone,
We have a new requirement in our project.
Some confidential data like SSN  and his Demographic information is encrypted in Database. We have to bring that data into Cognos and FM and then report studio.
But user saves data in local hard disk as a PDF or Excel file , data has to be encrpted again. This is a little tricky task.
Is there any other thridparty tools for this one or Anybody faced this kind of challangeing situation?

Please provide your solutions as soon as possible. It would be a great help for me.

Thank you,
Srini

I know the technical guys at IBM use PGP full-disk encryption on their laptops wherever client data is being used. This basically encrypts the whole drive. Is this an option for your client?

Cheers!

MF.

If they are using Windows 7 Pro or better, BitLocker encryption is a built-in feature. There are 3rd-party packages like the aforementioned PGP, Symantec, and others.

I am not sure if/how you could encrypt the individual reports, though.
