Conditional Formatting for Cross tab report

Hi,

I'm working on a cross tab report where i need to apply conditional formatting by highlighting Maximun and Minimum % value for a column.

Here is the scenario... (Actually its cross tab but here i showed as list)

Enrollment                  Total Records     Total Discrepancies   Total Accuracy
         
January-2012                       180                            6                               96.67%
February-2012                      180                            6                                96.67%
March-2012                           180                           5                                 97.22%
April-2012                             180                            7                                 96.11%
May-2012                              180                            6                                  96.67%
June-2012                             180                            6                                   96.67%

With the above mock up, i need to highlight the maximum % and minimum % which is 97.22% and 96.11%...
i tried creating a separate data item for max and min in the query and tried using string variable, but didnt help much.
Suggest me if any other way to achieve this in cross tab...

I think you are doing everything right, but you missed something.
Because I tried your approach at my end and it is working for crosstab.

You mean you achieved applying conditional formating in Crosstab?
If so could you share me the report XML.

This is based on Cognos Sample which highlights the maximum cells in Crosstab.

Appreciate and thanks for the XML.
Here my case is to use a string variable. PFA my Report Mockup.
Here in this mockup for crosstab section, i need to calculate the Max and min % by comparing # of months in a yr.
And the conditional formating should be applied for column style.
Let me know if you get any ideas  :)
