Chart Drill down

Hi,

We are using a cube, and will be creating a combination chart to demonstrate revenues & expenses using Cognos Report Studio.

When we drill down it takes us down to next level. Now is it possible that when we drill down we not only see the sub-level but also the previous level still stays open. So in real sense, you drill down and see more stuff but you do not hide what you have already opened. Just to compare everything.

If you are running the report in the Cognos Viewer then I don't know if you can dynamically make that happen. However, if you are within Business Insight Advanced (or Cognos Workspace Advanced as it is called in 10.2) then you can work in Preview mode, click on the column and then select Create > Next Level Down from the Explore button.

There was a fairly complicated technique for achieving this presented at IOD in Rome three years ago. I will take a look through my dusty archives and see if I can dig it out...

Hi,

If you want to achieve this in Report Stidio, then there is a way using JavaScript. But I would not recommned untill it is the last option.
Lets wait to hear from MFGF.
