Best Way to Set User/Member Security in a Transformer Cube?

I have a cube that basically has School data by Campus.  Right now, I have built an admin cube for admins with access to multiple campuses and an individual cube for each campus for those with access to just one campus.  But overall, the cubes are effectively used by admins.

My question is that I have just been asked to make the cubes available to teachers.  I foresee two ways of doing this but would like suggestions:

1) I can try to build many small cubes by adding something like a ClassID in Cube Group so that it effectively builds a cube per class, but then I'd have to assign security to each cube per teacher--which sounds like a maintenance nightmare given there can be hundreds to thousands of teachers!
2) I can try and use Custom Views in my existing cubes to filter what they see to only see the info they have access to in the current campus cubes.

In the case of Option 2, however, how would I do that exactly?  If I have a list of students that a campus admin sees for an entire campus and now I need to let a Teacher log in and only see her students in that campus, how can setting Cloak or Suppress on the Students dimension in a custom view affect this?  Does this imply I would have to create a Custom View for each Teacher or Class to only see her students?!

This is why I need suggestions! :)  If you would be so kind, please help clarify my options and correct me where I have it wrong.

Thank you!
Dave

Hi,

Yes - you'd need to define a cutom view for each teacher and apply that view to the teacher's group or ID. Whether you use cloak or suppress is really driven my how you want the measures to roll up - do you want the teacher to see the measure values for the entire dimenson or just for the sturents they are responsible for?

Cheers!

MF.

Okay, was hoping there was a magic button I'd missed.

Thanks MF!
