Hi Buddy,

Hope anyone can give me a helping hand!

While I was accessing the cognos page through the dispatcher - http://x.x.x.x:9300/p2pd/servlet/dispatch

It returned:

AAA-SYS-0002
The service cannot process the request because it has not been initialized.

Details:
AAA-SYS-0001 An internal error occurred.AAA-SYS-0004 The authentication service response was invalid.org.dom4j.DocumentException: Error on line 97 of document : An invalid XML character (Unicode: 0x1a) was found in the element content of the document. Nested exception: An invalid XML character (Unicode: 0x1a) was found in the element content of the document.

Env:

Hi Edward,

It takes sometime to initialize the dispatcher once you have started the Cognos Service. You can try after sometime and it will work.
I looked in IBM tech notes, it says there may be some issue with LDAP or its settings in Cognos Configuration.

Rahul

Hi Rahul,

Thanks for your reply! I have waited for quite a long time for the start up, but it still doesn't work.

Thanks again for taking time to find out the possible solution. I will diagnose about the LDAP settings in Cognos Configuration. Hope the Cognos can be started up soon.

Edward

Hi Edward,

Can you try to start Cognos without any authentication provider, just the anonymous access, this will verify whether the issue is with Cognos installation or LDAP.

Rahul

Hi Rahul,

Thanks for your reply again. I have started Cognos without using any auth provider and the same problem exists. :(

I am wondering if the data in content store is crashed. Still isolating the problem.

Hi Edward,

This means there is some issue with the Cognos installation, can you send me the cogserver.log file.
Also, you can check the content manager url whether it is running fine or not following the url
http://<cognosserver>:9300/p2pd/servlet/

Rahul

Hi Rahul,

Sorry for replying late. I have checked the content manager is running.

I have sent you the cogserver.log file.

Actually I found that camAsyncService starts up failure, but I don't know how to solve it.

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

I would suggest you to create a new content store. Make sure the encoding of database is Unicode.

Hi Rahul,

Thanks for your help again!

After following your instruction and creating a new content store, I am able to access the page. Hope that kind of disaster would happen again...

Hello freinds,

<AAA-SYS-0001_An Internal Error occurred>

We are using Cognos 10.1.1 FB 2.  Please find attached error details.

We have been facing this issue often since last 2 months. This happens only for a set of users all the time. Otherwise for rest of the users absolutely no problem.

1st Time - We restarted all the Cognos Services (we have a distributed environment i.e. 2 app servers, 1 content store and 1 gateway). Then the issue got resloved. User could login to Cognos without any problem.

2nd Time - It happend after 3 weeks time for the similar users. We restarted the Cognos services. It didn't help. Then restarted all the Cognos Servers. The issue got resolved.

3rd Time - It happened yesterday. Just for 1 user. This time we haven't done any restart because we want a permanent fix. So opened a PMR with IBM support and as per their suggestion enabled the ipfclientconfig.xml to create the AAAClient file. Shared this with IBM Support team. Haven't heard anything yet though.

FYI, we have already checked with the Active Directory team to ensure if there is a change at their end. But seems no change at all.

People who faced such an issue, how have you resloved this ( a permanent fix)?

Many thanks for your input in advance!

Regards,
Prit
