Where do I go to get Info on how to do and mdx  with a cube.  there isnt alot of info in the books.

Hi,

I found the documentation shipped with Microsoft Analysis Services to be very useful.  There are MDX overview, Basic MDX, Advanced MDX and MDX Functions books online which can be very enlightening.

Reading the Microsoft theories on MDX is certainly worthwhile, though it should be noted that Cognos uses a proprietery version of the language which differs slightly from Microsoft's standard language.  Have you spent any time in the ProvenPractices section of the cognos.com site?  There is a document which provides an OLAP function list as well as a great document on writing efficient OLAP queries.
