What software should I install for work with a database Informix (administration, development (SQL))?

According the IBM Cognos 10.1 supported environments, these versions of Informix are supported:

Informix IDS 11.5 via 3.5 Informix Connect AIX, HP-UX (PA-RISC), Solaris, Linux (x86), Windows Active
Informix IDS 11.1 via 3.0 Informix Connect AIX, HP-UX (PA-RISC), Solaris, Windows  Compatible
Informix IDS 10.1 via 2.9 Informix Connect AIX, HP-UX (PA-RISC), Solaris, Windows  Compatible
Informix XPS 8.5 via Informix Connect 3.50 AIX, HP-UX (PA-RISC), Linux, Solaris, Windows  Active

Assuming your version of Informix is listed above, it looks like you need to install Informix Connect for a data source connection to the Informix IDS database.  However connecting to the Message Service sounds like a web service. 

I've never tried connecting to a Message Service, someone else might want to chime in, but I think in order to connect to a web service, you need Cognos Real Time, wich is a separate component from BI.

Virtual View Manager can connect to a web service, but there are no options in Express to connect to VVM as far as I'm aware. You would need to be on the full Enterprise Cognos 10 to do this.
